How to play two-star Star Battle

Place exactly two stars in every row, every column and every colour region. Stars must never touch, including diagonally. Tap an empty cell once to mark a dot, again for a star, and again to clear it. Drag to mark several empty cells with dots. Use the Patterns button if colours are difficult to distinguish.

  1. Each of the ten rows needs two stars.
  2. Each of the ten columns needs two stars.
  3. Each outlined region needs two stars. Colours and optional textures identify the same groups.
  4. Leave at least one cell between stars in every direction. Two stars may share a row, column or region as long as they do not touch.

A solved 10×10 board contains 20 stars. A red conflict means stars touch or a row, column or region has more than two stars. Having fewer than two is an unfinished unit, not necessarily a mistake.

Star Battle and Two Not Touch

Two Not Touch uses this two-star rule set. Solvedle offers its own original practice puzzles. If you want the one-star variant used by Queens-style games, choose one-star practice; its rules and records are separate.

Original puzzles, separate practice records

The initial library contains 40 original 10×10 puzzles. Every puzzle has one verified solution and a complete logical solution; guessing is not required. These classic boards can involve advanced deductions; the Classic label is a rule set, not a measured difficulty rating.

Press New for another board. Unsolved puzzles are offered first; once the library is exhausted, puzzles can be replayed. Copy the current URL to share the same starting board. Your progress and best times stay in this browser. Two-star practice does not change the daily trio, streak or daily completion rankings.
